Sandgate resident Phil Vivian has been announced as the winner of the Major Training Group Award for Construction Trainer of the Year at the 2016 Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) Excellence Awards.
The TAFE Queensland SkillsTech trainer was presented with his Award in front of an industry crowd at a gala event in Brisbane on Friday 25 November.
The Construction Trainer of the Year Award recognises the achievements of trainers and teachers who have shown innovation and outstanding commitment to training.
CSQ CEO Brett Schimming said Phil stood out from the competition in a very competitive field of entrants.
“The judges noted Phil’s strong industry background and his desire to give back to the industry. He believes that industry and student feedback is critical to his continued improvement,” he said
“His enthusiasm and dedication as a teacher and life skills mentor really shone through.”
Mr Schimming highlighted the outstanding ongoing success of the Awards.
“The CSQ Excellence Awards continue to grow in popularity every year. This year’s field of entrants come from all corners of the state and have a diverse range of backgrounds,” he said.
“Our nominees share a common commitment to training and a strong desire to reach their full potential.
