Major Projects : Training Needs Analysis Funding
Construction Skills Queensland is committed to the Major Projects Initiative for the fourth year. The purpose of the initiative is to encourage industry to undertake planning for future skills requirements with the recruitment of entrants and the upskilling of their existing industry workforce. The initiative will also assist the Queensland building and construction industry to fulfil its obligations under the Queensland Government's Construction Contracts Structured Training Policy (10 percent Policy).
As part of a workforce analysis, Construction Skills Queensland will conduct a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify the skills gaps, in conjunction with the project's allocated training co-ordinator. The TNA will document, cost, map and plan the projected training requirements of the project.
The Major Projects Initiative equally targets New Entrants, Existing Workers and Qualified Existing Workers within the Queensland building and construction industry.
Construction Skills Queensland supports skills assessment and up to 6 competencies of gap training for Cert III Qualifications in construction and higher level qualifications, Certificate IV and above, the training and assessment of prescribed occupations licences, post trade training eg specialist licenses and, short course skill gap training.
