What is happening with the Pre-Apprenticeship Emloyment Incentive?
The Pre-Apprenticeship Employment Incentive completed effective 30 September 2015.
Employers of graduates from the Doorways 2 Construction (D2C) or Doorways 2 Civil Construction (D2CC) program, who commence an apprenticeship or traineeship before 30 September 2016 may still be eligible to claim the incentive. Employers must register with CSQ before 31 December 2016.
The Pre-Apprenticeship Employment Incentive will not be available for any graduates of the D2C or D2CC program who commence an apprenticeship or traineeship after 30 September 2016.

How does funding work?
CSQ provides a funding incentive up to $4,000 (+ GST) to employers who take on an eligible apprentice or trainee.
The incentive is paid in two instalments. The first instalment of $2,000 (+ GST) is payable after the apprentice or trainee’s successful completion of the probationary period. Employers of apprentices or trainees that cancel before successful completion of the probationary period will not be eligible to receive the incentive. The second instalment of $2,000 (+ GST) is payable three months after the apprentice or trainee’s successful completion of the probationary period.
Eligible apprentices or trainees must be employed under a training contract with the same employer at the time of entitlement to the second instalment. Employers of apprentices or trainees that cancel prior to successfully completing three months employment after the probationary period are not eligible to receive the second instalment payment.
Employers of eligible participants from 2014-15 CSQ programs who transition into a part-time or full-time apprenticeship between 1 October 2014 and 30 September 2016 have until 31 December 2016 to register for the incentive.
If you have signed-up an apprentice or trainee from an eligible pre-apprenticeship program you must read the eligibility criteria and if you believe you meet it register for the incentive using the incentive registration form.
Employers will be advised of eligibility and where successful they will be requested to submit a tax invoice to CSQ for payment.
Eligible Participants from 2014-15 CSQ programs must have transitioned into an approved apprenticeship or traineeship on or before 30 September 2016 and registered for the pre-apprenticeship employment incentive before 31 December 2016.
