How we help

Subsidised training to help build your career

CSQ is here to help you connect with the skills and training you need. We know how important it is to invest in your skills, so it’s our mission to make it easier for you by:

  • subsidising your training costs
  • connecting you with Registered Training Organisations

So how do we do this? We’re funded by an industry training levy — basically, whenever there’s a construction project over a certain size we receive a small percentage of the cost — and we use this money to subsidise your training.

There are three programs on offer to help you build your career:

SHORT COURSES HIGHER LEVEL SKILLS SKILLS ASSESSMENT &
GAP TRAINING (SAGT)
You are:
  • already working in the construction industry
  • seeking to increase your knowledge in a specific area
  • have perhaps been asked by your boss to complete additional training

2017-18: we provide access to over 100 Short Courses that will help you broaden your skills.

You are:
  • already working in the construction industry
  • want to increase your knowledge and qualifications
  • keen to move into a higher-level role in general or civil construction

The Higher Level Skills program provides nationally accredited qualifications including:
  • Certificate IV
  • Diploma
  • Advanced Diploma

You are:
  • already working in the construction industry
  • already across the majority of skills necessary to operate as a skilled worker but don’t yet hold a qualification
  • keen to turn experience into a formal qualification
The Skills Assessment & Gap Training program:
  • assesses your current skills and provides the gap training you need to attain a nationally recognised qualification
