Our History

The establishment in July 2007 of Construction Skills Queensland transformed the nature of skills development and the interaction between industry and government. This signalled a radical shift in the development and implementation of training and skilling strategies for the industry.

Construction Skills Queensland has firmly established itself in a leadership role, empowering industry to take responsibility for real skills solutions. An industry consultation process has been developed and refined, allowing effective two-way communication between the organisation and the building and construction industry’s key stakeholders. Relationships with training providers were founded and developed in order to ensure that training is relevant, meeting the current and future needs of industry and maximising the value of the fund.

Our Vision

To be the Building & Construction Industry’s peak body for the development and support of skilling solutions, workforce planning and advocacy services to ensure the right skills in the right place at the right time

Our Purpose

To build industry skills capacity, deliver investment and skilling outcomes that meets or exceeds customers expectations via the ethical, transparent and effective management update of the Building & Construction Industry Training Fund.
